Comprehensive insurance is often taken out in conjunction with collision insurance so that the policyholder is protected against both accidents related and non-accident related damages. Comprehensive insurance coverage limits are determined based on the actual cash value of the vehicle, so the more a car is worth, the more the insurer will pay in the event of a claim.
